The first level of training is the foundation for all of the other response levels mandated by OSHA and includes the 4-hour First Responder Awareness training. The First Responder is the one who initially responds to the scene of the emergency and puts into effect actions to minimize the impact of the release and reduce the potential exposure of nearby persons, property, or the environment from the effects of the release. It will discuss all of the concepts of response, safety, hazard and risk assessment, and actions that can be taken by those with this level of certification.
